Busyness with our daily life, success in our careers and life in general don’t give us much time to rest, spend some time reflecting on where we are going in life, or what is important to us and why we are doing what we are doing.
God has been trying since the beginning of creation to get is to slow down and rest. He built the Sabbath into the week so we could stop from our busyness and spend time resting with Him.
Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
In Luke 10:41–42 Jesus has to pull Martha, the sister of Mary, up because she was so busy she had missed the most important thing.
And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
So, how about slowing down and spending some time at the feet of Jesus this week?
